The native range of this species is S. Japan to Taiwan, S. China to N. Peninsula Malaysia. It is has environmental uses, as a medicine and for food.

Plant development

Flower: Showy, Fragrant, Blooms on old growth. In its native set up, it has a clump-forming growth habit and reaches about 1.5 m tall.

Pruning should be done once a month for the variegated ginger lily. Ensure all tools to be used for pruning are well sterilized before use.
