The native range of this species is Sri Lanka.

Max. Plant Height
In its native situ Cristata can develop a dome that is 60 cm (2 feet) wide and 90 cm (3 feet) high.

A small, evergreen, frost-sensitive succulent shrub with a line or crest formed where the growing tip of the stem once was. This unusually ridged, undulating, reddish-green surface has a brain coral-like appearance.
